Tourism Information

Sheffield Beach lies on the subtropical Dolphin Coast of South Africa's famed KwaZulu-Natal Province. Sheffield Beach is the most northern resort town on the Dolphin Coast. Situated just 48km (30 miles) north of Durban's vibrant attractions, and a stone's throw from the bustling resort of Ballito, Sheffield Beach offers visitors the best of both worlds. While one can relax in the tranquility of pristine beaches with sparkling rock pools teeming with sea life, just down the road you will find an abundance of restaurants, pubs, clubs, cinemas and shops.

The rocks of Sheffield Beach give way to a perfect bathing area, while the nearby coastline offers some beautifully sheltered coves and superb rock pools, providing for excellent snorkelling. Further from the shore there are magnificent reef formations offering a variety of sea life, where scuba diving and spear-fishing is also extremely popular. Crayfish, oysters and mussels can also be seen here although a license is needed if one plans to partake.

Other activities on offer in the area include surfing, horse riding and golf. Another attraction of Sheffield Beach is The Kingdom, a multicultural village which boasts craft stalls and restaurants serving local cuisine, plus energetic Zulu dancing shows while you dine! Whatever your interests, Sheffield Beach offers accommodation to suit all tastes.

Accommodation includes B&B guest villas and several comfortable self-catering establishments, chalets, cottages, maisonettes, houses and apartments. Sheffield Beach is one of the Dolphin Coast's best kept secrets.
