Situated in the Northern Drakensberg halfway down Oliviershoek Pass, between Little Switzerland and Alpine Heath, high up in the mountains on a 4x4 track nestles the farm Ingwe.
Spectacular golden sandstone cliffs that surge skywards, steep-sided valleys with crystal clear streams and rock pools, rocky gorges ripe with tree ferns, cycads and all sorts of beautiful indigenous plants surrounded by forests of yellowwood and rolling grasslands.
It is possible to view the Cape Vulture breeding in the cliffs from the open deck of the cabin and with numerous other bird and game species this is truly a bird-watcher, hiker and nature lovers paradise.
Only one self catering cabin on a
4x4 track (grade 1 to 3 depending on the amount of rain, low range not essential and 180mm ground clearance is sufficient) not possible by car. You are assured privacy in an unspoiled part of the Berg, except for free roaming eland, bushbuck, mountain rheebok, wild baboons and an abundance of bird life to disturb your piece of mind.
The cabin sleeps 6 and consists of two bedrooms, one with a queen-size bed, one with 2 single beds as well as a bunker bed in the living area. One bathroom with a bath, basin and flush toilet. Open plan living room with fire place and fully equipped kitchen.
Outside: deck, lapa, shower, flush toilet and undercover parking.
Solar powered lights and gas-stove, -fridge & -geysers provides for the necessary comfort. A wood fired donkey provides hot water to the outside shower. All you need to bring is your food, drinks, charcoal and fire-lighters, ice, binoculars, hiking boots and a good book for rainy days.
