WE ARE OFF THE GRID(power for at least 4- 6 hours during loadshedding)! Solar for the power and water pumps for the water provide you a permanent holiday from the endless South African dramas of power and water supplies! Surely a holiday in South Africa should be a holiday from these dramas!
Due to the typical security concerns in South Africa we have recently erected massive 4 meter high walls around the property, it does not impact on the magnificent views but rather your sense of safety and well-being. It is essential to me as the owner to know that you are sleeping peacefully at night.
We note the recent media reports of sewerage in the oceans in and around Durban, our area has been saved from this as all residences are serviced by septic tanks on site, no treated or untreated sewerage flows into the ocean for 8 kilometres either side of us, so you can swim all year around! ALSO Due to the water shedding challenges we have back up JOJO tanks( over 20 000 litres) and Pumps, so you will have continuous water supply.
Highrocks Beach House has been voted Top Ten Beach House by the Getaway Magazine for both 2014 and 2015 for elegance and affordability. Please note that Highrocks Beach House and House on the Beach are situated next door to each other and in total can accommodate up to 22 adults and 6 - 8 under ten children. For social gatherings and small weddings these 2 houses are ideal.
Highrocks is an easy drive down the South Coast from Durban of approximately 40 minutes. As you enter the property you see the vast ocean before you, the lounge is double volume and the 80 year old eaves are exposed. From there you walk onto the deck and the ocean literally rolls out below you onto the horizon. Hammocks and easy seating will catch you as you relax completely into this wonderful environment.
Highrocks has a total of 5 bedrooms configured as follows; 3 king sized bedrooms ensuite with aircon overlooking the beautiful Indian Ocean, the 4th bedroom is also ensuite with a queen sized bed with aircon, 5 th bedroom is the bunk room has 2 by ¾ sized beds and 2 single beds and can accommodate a few more mattresses, this room also has aircon.
The living area is all open plan with screeded concrete floors and 4 m above are the exposed beams creating depth and volume. The kitchen, lounge and veranda, once the stacking doors are rolled back, become one wonderfully expansive space brilliant for social and family gatherings.
The view stretches as far as the eye can see out towards the world renowned Aliwal Shoal in the South and north along the many interlocking bays and headlands. The property is on 1/2 an acre and has swings and childrens tree house, access to the beach is along a 100 m cul-de-sac and then you are von Widenham Bay, a pristine fishing bay and bathing beach that has been the best kept secret for years. Highrocks is an upmarket self-catering beach house that sleeps 8 -10 adults and a few children under 10.

Did you know that Wheretostay is the only booking platform you do not pay commission on, and for that reason the rates are always cheaper than the better known platforms. Secondly you are able to call the owner and chat directly...the world is full of unscrupulous people so dealing directly is the safest
